About Kim

Kim Kirk has over 20 years of practice experience. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Augustana University College in 1988 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 2000, and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta. Before law school, she worked as a social worker helping clients obtain financial benefits, employment counselling, and child support. After law school she practiced personal injury, insurance defence, and workers' compensation law before moving into a general practice as staff counsel with Legal Aid, covering family law, landlord/tenant matters, civil enforcement, civil litigation, criminal law, and child welfare matters. She opened her own family law and child welfare defence practice in February 2009 and now focuses on family law, including divorce and separation, custody, access, child support, spousal support, division of property, and prenuptial and cohabitation agreements.
