About Kayla
Kayla Terceira is a criminal lawyer who was part of the inaugural class at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she founded and served as president of the Criminal Law Students' Society. She also sat on the school's first Advocates' Society as chair of the undergraduate moot and volunteered as events coordinator for the Pro Bono Students' Society chapter. She won several advocacy awards in law school and represented her school in national moot competitions. Before law school she studied psychology, earning a bachelor's degree and a diploma with a focus on criminal justice studies from the University of Guelph-Humber. She worked as a legal research assistant for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America during her studies. Called to the bar in March 2024, she now handles a range of criminal cases including assault, sexual assault, and Charter challenges.
