Lawyer at What The Law
Kashif Alam is a criminal defence lawyer who handles cases across Ontario, from provincial offences to some of the most serious charges under the Criminal Code. He studied at the University of Toronto before earning an Honours LL.B. from the University of Southampton in England, then completed the National Committee on Accreditation requirements and was called to the Ontario bar. He articled at a criminal defence firm in Toronto and has focused exclusively on criminal law since then. His files have included drug trafficking, firearms offences, sexual assault, aggravated assault, intimate partner violence, fraud, impaired driving, and theft. He puts particular care into bail hearings, preparing sureties and release plans that can withstand scrutiny, and he has appeared before both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Many of his matters resolve without trial through withdrawal, diversion, or negotiated resolutions.
