About Katherine

Katherine Shapiro is an associate at Rice Parsons Leoni & Elliott LLP, practising primarily in class actions on behalf of consumers and injured people across Canada in product liability, privacy, competition, and securities litigation. She began her career at a plaintiff-side class action firm in Toronto and has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in Ontario and British Columbia. Her cases have included proposed class actions over Depo-Provera, PFAS contamination, and vaping and social media harms to youth. Katherine was called to the bar in Ontario in 2022 and in British Columbia in 2023. She holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto (2021) and a B.M.Sc. in biochemistry from the University of Western Ontario (2017).
