About Kate

Kate McGrann advises clients on complex corporate and commercial matters, securities issues, and administrative and public law disputes, appearing before Ontario courts, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and regulators including the OSC and CIRO. She spent a secondment as Senior Enforcement Counsel with the OSC's Enforcement Branch in 2017-18, prosecuting cases involving unregistered trading, illegal distributions, and fraud. She has also led major public inquiries, acting as lead counsel to the Town of Collingwood Inquiry, co-lead counsel to the Ontario COVID-19 Long-Term Care Commission, co-lead counsel to the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Inquiry, and most recently as counsel to the federal inquiry into foreign electoral interference. She mentors law students and volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario's legal advice hotline, and received the Lexpert Rising Star Award in 2021.
