Karine Millaire is Counsel at JFK Law's Kahnawake office and a professor at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Law, combining litigation with academic work in Aboriginal, constitutional, and human rights law. A member of the Quebec Bar since 2008, she has appeared before all levels of court in Quebec, the Supreme Court of Canada, and various administrative tribunals, and her research addresses UNDRIP implementation, cultural safety, and Indigenous legal systems. Karine created the first mandatory course on First Peoples and the law for undergraduate students in a Quebec civil-law faculty, responding to Call to Action 28 of the Truth and Reconciliation Report. A member of the Wendat Nation, she is president of Projets Autochtones du Québec, the largest organization providing shelter and support services to homeless Indigenous people in Montreal.
