About Karim
Karim Lalani practices primarily in US and Canadian corporate finance and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and commercial law. He has been involved in acquisitions, financings and reorganizations of various sizes, including cross-border private and public debt and equity offerings, take-over bids, and M&A transactions, and advises publicly traded companies on corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and securities disclosure requirements. He represented the partnership of 38 First Nations in a $736 million acquisition of a 12.5% equity interest in Enbridge's Westcoast natural gas pipeline system, a transaction that included the first-ever federal loan guarantee under Canada's Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program and won the Capital Markets Deal of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Law Awards. He was admitted to the British Columbia Bar and the Ontario Bar in 1996 (retired from the Ontario Bar in 2022) and the Washington State Bar in 2007.
