About Jonathan

Jonathan Tieman was born in Drumheller and raised in Medicine Hat. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Calgary in 2004 and his LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 2007, and was called to the Alberta Bar on August 29, 2008. In October 2021 he completed an LL.M. at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. His practice covers family law, mediation, real estate, corporate and commercial law, wills and estates, and civil litigation, and he has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, including the Court of King's Bench and the Court of Appeal. Since 2008 he has been a sessional instructor in business law at Medicine Hat College. He is a charter member of the Medicine Hat Community View Lions, treasurer of the Saamis Immigration Services Association, president of the Sanare Centre, and treasurer of the Alberta chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
