About Jonathan

Jonathan Myers is counsel at Torys, focusing on the energy sector. He advises clients across the industry, including electricity generators that rely on renewable, conventional, nuclear, and alternative fuel sources, along with companies that transmit and distribute electricity and gas. Jonathan frequently appears before the Ontario Energy Board on issues spanning rate applications, licensing, leave-to-construct approvals, and expropriation proceedings. He also counsels clients on energy project development, grid interconnection, participation in the IESO market, compliance matters, and the regulatory dimensions of energy-sector mergers, acquisitions, and financings. He began his career as in-house counsel at Ontario Power Generation, where he handled a broad regulatory practice covering the company's nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric business units. Jonathan holds membership in the Ontario Bar Association's Natural Resources and Energy Section as well as its Environment Section.
