About Jonathan

Jonathan Chen is a partner at Lenczner Slaght whose litigation practice covers class actions, complex commercial disputes, product liability and professional negligence matters. He has litigated across Canada, appearing before the Commercial List of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Federal Court, and he was counsel on one of Canada's first class action decisions addressing aggregate damages. Jonathan chairs the firm's Innovation Hive and serves on its AI Taskforce, helping integrate artificial intelligence into legal service delivery. He earned his JD from Queen's University in 2012 and an honours BA in criminology, sociology and philosophy from the University of Toronto in 2008. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2013 and the British Columbia bar in 2024, and outside the law he competed internationally for Canada in esports.
