About Jon

Jon Northup is a partner in the Tax Group and a member of the Executive Committee at Goodmans. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and investment funds, with particular expertise in structuring cross-border transactions. Jon is vice-chair of the firm's Aging and Healthcare practice group and chairs SenbridGe, a Goodmans division offering advisory, education, and networking programs for the healthcare and aging sector. He has extensive experience advising issuers and investment dealers on the structuring and taxation of public offerings, including by REITs and investment trusts. Jon advised RioCan REIT on the first offering of preferred units by a Canadian trust, and has advised several other REITs and trusts, including BSR REIT and WPT Industrial REIT, on cross-border IPOs.
