Johnny de Bakker

About Johnny

Johnny de Bakker was born and raised in Thunder Bay and practices law across Northwestern Ontario, focusing on real estate, criminal and quasi-criminal offences, wills and estates, and corporate law. Early in his career he focused on advocating for clients in court. He is the founder of the Ischkinakker Shaker, an annual Christmas fundraiser that has raised over $200,000 for local charities, and the co-founder of I HEART TBAY, a local promotions initiative. He served as Past President of Thunder Bay Ventures for 18 years and past Vice Chair of Roots Community Food Centre for 13 years, and he received the Thunder Bay Law Association's Service to the Community Award in 2021. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013 after earning his LLB from Cardiff University in Wales.
