About John
John G. Cox founded his Oakville family law practice in 1990, following his call to the Ontario bar in 1987. He is a Certified Ontario Family Law Arbitrator whose work spans complex litigation, contested and uncontested divorce, parenting arrangements, support, property division and international family law disputes, including offshore asset tracing. He favours resolving matters through negotiation, mediation and arbitration where possible, while also litigating on clients' behalf when needed. Earlier in his career, Cox served as a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney in Halton Region from 1991 to 2002 and as a Deputy Judge of the Halton Small Claims Court from 2003 to 2009. He holds an LL.B. and a B.Ed. with Distinction from the University of Alberta, and a B.A. from Trent University.
