About Jiafu

Jiafu (Jeff) Li is an articled student at Chak Law, articling under John Chak, with a background spanning engineering, finance and immigration consulting. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Alberta before discovering an interest in helping newcomers navigate Canada's immigration system, which he pursued through roles at immigration law and consulting firms. As a first-generation immigrant himself, he brings a personal understanding of the challenges new Canadians face. He earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Saskatchewan in 2025, where he achieved the highest score in his class on a major paper about First Nations economic development, and completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. His interests include civil and criminal litigation and estate planning.
