Chak Law isn't a large firm, but it's a full service practice in downtown Richmond, British Columbia, founded by John Chak. Chak earned a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in criminology from Simon Fraser University, then a law degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2011. The firm handles criminal defence, traffic offences, personal injury claims from motor vehicle accidents, civil litigation, real estate transactions, secured financing and business law, and its lawyers and articled students work in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese.

Chak represented the defendant in a widely covered 2011 street racing case, and the firm's own results page still links a CBC News report on the driving prohibition later being overturned. The associate team brings varied backgrounds to that practice: one associate spent eight years researching chemical biology and genetics in China and Switzerland before training as a lawyer and gaining bar admission in both Alberta and British Columbia, and another studied at Fordham Law School in New York before returning to civil litigation, family law, immigration and real estate work in the Lower Mainland.
