About Jennifer
Jennifer Jenkins co-founded the firm now known as Jenkins, Newman & Shipley Law together with Thomas A. Newman, Q.C. She earned an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1978 and an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 1981, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1983. She has practiced exclusively in wills and estates, including estate litigation, since 1985, and now serves as counsel to the firm's lawyers. She frequently spoke and wrote for the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario, taught in the Bar Admission Course and at Durham College, and once acted for the Office of the Children's Lawyer. With her late husband, Mark Scott, she co-authored the text "Compensation and Duties of Estate Trustees, Guardians and Attorneys," still published by Thomson Reuters.
