About Jennifer
Jennifer J. Meader practises land use planning and development law, including related litigation, for residential and commercial development corporations, municipalities, and individual residents throughout Ontario. Her work includes Planning Act and Development Charges Act appeals, drafting associated agreements, negotiating cost-sharing agreements for developers, and handling heritage, expropriation, and municipal bylaw enforcement matters. She appears before Ontario courts, municipal councils and committees, and administrative tribunals, and regularly before the Ontario Land Tribunal. Before law school, she worked as a project manager at a land development consulting firm serving prominent GTA developers. She earned a B.E.S. (Honours) in Planning, with a specialization in land development planning, from the University of Waterloo in 2005, and a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2009, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2010. She teaches planning law at Toronto Metropolitan University and has served the Waterloo Region and Niagara Home Builders' Associations, including as an appointed advisor to the Waterloo Region board, and formerly sat on the City of Kitchener's Committee of Adjustment.
