About Jean-François

Jean-François Normand is a lawyer with expertise in intellectual property law and emerging technologies. He advises companies of all sizes on intellectual property, software acquisition and management (including open-source use), artificial intelligence, data management, privacy, medical technology (MedTech), education technology (EdTech), and commercial law. Normand completed his law studies at Université Laval and was called to the Barreau du Québec in 2014, after which he worked at national firms and as in-house legal counsel before founding his own firm in Ontario. He is a member of both the Barreau du Québec and the Law Society of Ontario, and has served as a partner and expert collaborator at Laforest Avocats since 2023.
