About Jacques

Beaudet was called to the Barreau du Québec in 1972 and began his career at Amyot Lesage, the firm where he articled. He later founded his own practice, Sirois Beaudet, which merged with Gagné Letarte in 1984, when he became a partner in the combined firm. He practises mainly in business law, Indigenous law, and tax law, with extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and corporate financing, and has been involved in major matters relating to the structuring and operation of cooperatives. He has played an active role in setting up several Indigenous financial organizations at the provincial and national levels and sits on the boards of a number of companies and non-profit organizations. He holds the distinction of Avocat émérite (Ad. E.), awarded by the Barreau du Québec in recognition of an outstanding career and contribution to the legal profession.
