About Jay
Jay Meunier has practiced law in Ontario since being called to the bar in 1995 and co-founded Meunier Carrier Lawyers with David Carrier in 2020. He focuses on personal injury litigation, including motor vehicle accidents, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, slip and fall, and dog bite claims, along with disability and insurance disputes, employment litigation, and estate and family law matters. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and various federal and provincial tribunals. Since 2001 he has served as a panel lawyer for the Office of the Children's Lawyer, and since 2015 as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court for the Districts of Cochrane and Sudbury. He previously sat as an adjudicator on the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and the Civil Remedies for Illicit Activities Office, and is a past board director of the Ontario Bar Association. Jay earned a B.A. (Hons.) from Laurentian University in 1990 and an LL.B. from the Université de Moncton in 1993, and practices in both English and French.
