About Jason
Jason D. Singer is a partner at Singer Katz LLP who represents accident victims and insurance claimants in personal injury, insurance, and disability claims, and has done so for more than 20 years. He is recognized as a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Ontario and has been included in rankings covering personal injury and insurance law. His notable cases include Kamin v. Kawartha Dairy, which broadened the test for causation in occupiers' liability, and Brandiferri v. Wawanesa, where he obtained a $100,000 punitive damages award against an insurer that wrongfully denied a house fire claim. He has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Canada as well as Ontario's Court of Appeal and Superior Court of Justice, along with various administrative tribunals. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and chaired several of its continuing legal education conferences. He earned his B.A. from the University of British Columbia in 1999 and his law degree from Queen's University in 2002, clerking for the Superior Court of Justice before being called to the bar in 2003.
