About Jamie

Jamie Pereira's practice is centred on criminal law and real estate. Before joining MHN Lawyers LLP, he articled with a large national firm in downtown Toronto, working on complex litigation and corporate transactions. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2003 and has been a partner since 2012, regularly appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice. As a Standing Agent to the Attorney General of Canada, he prosecutes federal drug offences for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, including large cocaine and fentanyl seizures and trafficking charges linked to manslaughter. On the defence side he handles impaired and dangerous driving charges, assault and other violent offences, property crimes, firearms charges and breaches of court orders. His real estate practice covers residential, commercial and agricultural purchases, sales and financing, much of it referred by real estate professionals in Norfolk County. Jamie holds an LL.B. and B.A. from the University of Windsor and is a senior member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
