About James
James is a partner with a broad commercial litigation practice spanning contractual disputes, professional negligence claims against auditors and others, director and officer liability disputes, regulatory proceedings, and construction litigation. He has appeared as lead and junior counsel before the Superior Court, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal in Ontario. James trained as a lawyer in the UK, earning a Master's in Law from the University of Cambridge focused on commercial law, and before joining TGF he worked for the UK's Competition and Markets Authority. His matters have included representing PricewaterhouseCoopers as receiver of Bridging Finance and acting as court-appointed counsel for policyholders in the demutualization of Economical Mutual Insurance Company. James mentors TGF's students and early-career lawyers and serves on committees with the Advocates Society.
