About James
James's insurance defence practice at Bell Baker focused on personal injury litigation, municipal liability disputes, and property claims including fire losses and oil spill remediation. He obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1984 and was called to the bar in 1986. He joined Bell Baker in 2008 after thirteen years practicing insurance defence litigation at Marcus McNamara Wilson, and became a partner in 2010. He was a past instructor in civil litigation at the Bar Admission Course and an active member of the Carleton County Law Association. He also played keyboards with the Verdict, a lawyers' rock and roll band that has played charity events in Ottawa for over 20 years.
