About Jalal

Jalal Jaffer has practised as both a litigator and solicitor for more than 30 years, covering commercial and business litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate litigation and transactions, commercial leasing and lending, and estate planning. Born and raised in East Africa, he holds economics degrees from the London School of Economics and Queen Mary College, University of London, and an LL.B. from UBC, and was called to the BC bar in 1978. He articled with Peterson Stark and stayed for 35 years before joining Hamilton Duncan in 2024, received the Queen's Counsel designation in 2015, and teaches part-time at Douglas College while holding leadership roles in the Ismaili Muslim community.
