About Jacques

Jacques Tynes is a criminal defence lawyer at JT Defence Law, representing clients in Toronto and across Ontario in bail hearings, impaired driving, drug trafficking, sexual assault and firearms matters. She began her career articling with Nova Scotia defence counsel and working for that province's Provincial Prosecution Service before appearing before the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal there. Called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2020 and the Ontario Bar in 2025, she has since represented clients in Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and Ontario. She is a graduate of the Schulich School of Law, where she was the most decorated member of her 2019 graduating class and placed in the top 10 in Canada at the Gale Cup National Moot, and she was accepted into Dalhousie's Master of Laws program to study constitutional law.
