About Jacob
Jacob Benson is a litigation associate in Shibley Righton's Windsor office. He focuses on problems between people, working across labour and employment law, civil litigation, education and public law, human rights, and estate litigation. His practice also extends to wills, powers of attorney, and municipal liability matters. Jacob has appeared before administrative tribunals like the Landlord and Tenant Board, as well as courts ranging from Small Claims up to the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He articled with the firm in 2022-2023 before becoming licensed. He earned a Canadian and American law degree through the dual JD program at the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy, along with a B.Comm from Windsor in 2017, and he was called to the Ontario bar in 2023.
