About Howard

Howard Winkler is a senior advisor to Shift Law on litigation matters and the founder and principal of Winkler Dispute Resolution. With more than 30 years of experience, he has built a reputation in the Ontario legal community for his advocacy and practical approach to resolving disputes, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex matters at trial and on appeal, particularly in media law and reputational disputes. He has been a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation for most of his career and is also a sought-after mediator, drawing on his litigation experience to help set realistic expectations for clients. Howard is Harvard Law School trained in dispute resolution and negotiation, and has been named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
