About Hilary

Hilary Ta is an associate lawyer at Nixon Wenger LLP with a broad interest in solicitor's work, including corporate and commercial, real estate, and industry-specific matters such as mining and construction. Before law school she worked in federal public policy and spent two years during her studies at the legal department of an international engineering consulting firm, drawing on an earlier background in environmental geoscience. Ta represented her law school at the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot in Toronto and served as a tax policy research assistant to a law professor. She earned a B.Sc. (Honours) in environmental science from Simon Fraser University in 2020 and a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2025, and will clerk as a bilingual law clerk at the Tax Court of Canada from August 2026 to August 2027.
