About Gordon
Gordon Petch began his career practising in Peterborough, where he represented clients in many smaller municipalities outside the GTA, and he has also acted for some of Canada's largest retailers and developers. For more than 30 years he has focused on municipal law, environmental law, expropriation law, real property assessment, and real estate development approvals. He works primarily as a barrister, appearing before administrative tribunals and on appeals to the appellate courts. In 1996 he founded Municipal Law Chambers, having earlier been a partner at Borden & Elliot, where he headed its Municipal and Environmental Law Department, and having practised at Gardiner Roberts. He earned a B.A. from the University of Toronto's Victoria College and an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia, and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1972. He has delivered papers on environmental law to international bar associations and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto Law School.
