About George

George A. Leibbrandt is a partner with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP's Labour and Employment Law practice group, working out of the firm's Toronto and Ottawa offices to represent clients across Ontario. His client base ranges from sole proprietorships and family-owned businesses to large corporations, spanning industries such as retail automotive, homebuilding, manufacturing, IT, and fitness and health management. He also advises large unionized public sector clients, including school boards, colleges, hospitals, and nursing homes. George has appeared before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Information and Privacy Commission, and numerous boards of arbitration. A former teacher, he is known for explaining complex employment issues in plain terms and frequently speaks to business audiences about workplace rights. He sits on the board of PATH Employment Services and is a member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
