About Evan
Evan B. Alderman joined Sullivan Mahoney as an associate in 2025 after completing his articles at the firm. He works within the Municipal & Land-Use group on matters spanning municipal, planning, and regulatory issues, advising municipalities, developers, and property owners through the application and appeal stages of land development. His M.A. in Planning covered land-use planning, policy development, aggregate resource extraction, and expropriation, giving him a combined legal and planning perspective on these files. He holds a B.A.Sc. (Hons.) in Combined Honours Political Science from McMaster University (2021) and a J.D. from Toronto Metropolitan University (2025), where he achieved the top standing in the Municipal Law course, served as a law review editor, and worked as a teaching assistant. Born and raised in the Niagara Region, he was called to the Ontario bar in 2025 and belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, the Lincoln County and Welland County Law Associations, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association's Municipal Law Section, the Ontario Expropriation Association, and the Urban Land Institute.
