About Elmer

Elmer Chiu is the founder of Elmer Chiu Legal Centre, practicing administrative law (surface rights), civil litigation, criminal defence, family law and real estate law in Calgary. Chiu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, from the University of Calgary (2000) and an LL.B. from the University of Alberta (2004). Chiu worked as an associate at one of Calgary's longest-active law firms starting in 2006, became a partner there in 2012, and then founded Elmer Chiu Legal Centre to offer efficient, cost-effective legal solutions. Chiu is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese and has advised international clients as well as Albertans in both urban and rural communities. Chiu volunteers with the University of Calgary's Student Legal Assistance program and serves as Treasurer of the Calgary Lawyers Hockey League.
