About Donna
Donna Yamazaki is a trained collaborative law lawyer who has practiced exclusively in family law since 2004 and co-founded YSM Family Law. Her practice focuses on divorce, property division, child and spousal support, parenting issues, and adoption law, and she negotiates and drafts cohabitation, marriage, separation, and asset protection agreements. Yamazaki draws on extensive litigation experience but prefers a non-adversarial, collaborative approach that helps clients stay in control of decisions affecting their families. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, spending her third year at Sophia University in Tokyo, and worked in Japan as a Coordinator for International Relations before completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Alberta in 2003. She was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2004. Yamazaki is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association's Family Law Section, and is accredited as a Collaborative Practitioner.
