About Donald
Don Cherniawsky has over 30 years of tax law experience, focusing on tax planning for owner-managed businesses along with dispute resolution and litigation for income tax, GST and customs. He has been a Chartered Accountant since 1981 and a lawyer since 1988, and was appointed King's Counsel in 2008. He is recognized as a leading tax lawyer by The Best Lawyers in Canada, receiving Lawyer of the Year honours in tax law in 2019, 2021 and 2024. He regularly lectures for CPA Alberta, CPA Saskatchewan and the Canadian Bar Association, and served as the GST and income tax advisor for the Edmonton 2001 World Championships in Athletics. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws, both with Distinction, from the University of Alberta.
