About Derrick

Derrick Hosanna's practice covers corporate and personal tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and dispute resolution with the CRA and provincial taxing authorities. Hosanna is a sessional instructor in corporate tax law at the Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law and has written and presented on numerous tax topics. In 2024 Hosanna received the Wayne Adams Young Practitioner Writing Award from the Canadian Tax Foundation for the best article by a young practitioner. Hosanna holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Lakehead University (2010) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta (2013), and completed CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax and In-Depth International Tax courses. Hosanna obtained the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation in 2026.
