About Dermot

Dermot is the managing partner of Carraig Law Group, which he founded in 2021, practicing general litigation including insurance defence, family law, sports law, and business disputes. An experienced trial lawyer, he has appeared in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, and Provincial Court of British Columbia, and has been an accredited family law mediator since 2016. Born and raised in Tyrone, Ireland, he read law at Queen's University Belfast and qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2014, working at Vancouver litigation boutiques before starting Carraig Law Group. He volunteers with Access Pro Bono and the Canadian Bar Association's Virtual Family Mediation Project and sits on the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada's roster. Dermot is conversational in Mandarin, Irish, and French.
