About Derek
Derek Nash is a founding partner of Law Fifty One, a boutique personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Calgary. He has extensive advocacy experience in applications and trials before the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, appeals before the Court of Appeal of Alberta, and representation in private arbitrations, mediations, and before administrative boards and tribunals. Before law, he was a licensed physiotherapist, and he now draws on that medical background in advocating for clients injured through negligence. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Calgary and a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy with Honours from Queen's University, and was called to the Alberta bar in 2009. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, and the Calgary Bar Association, and volunteers as an instructor with the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education and as a judge for the University of Calgary's Blackstone Debate.
