About Derek
Derek From joined WA Lawyers after spending ten years managing public interest constitutional litigation for a charitable organization. He holds a Bachelor of Religious Studies from Briercrest College, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario. From has argued, managed, or assisted on numerous cases before the Supreme Court of Canada and provincial courts of appeal, including matters involving interprovincial trade, freedom of expression, freedom of association, and civil forfeiture. He has published commentary in outlets including the Toronto Sun, Financial Post, National Post, and Calgary Herald on constitutional law and civil liberties topics. From also volunteers with the Chestermere Regional Community Association, where he has served as vice president and director. His practice focuses on constitutional law, civil liberties, civil litigation, and employment law.
