About Derek

Derek D. Key, KC has practiced law for more than 40 years and is a senior partner with Key Murray Law, working from the Summerside and Charlottetown offices. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law and property and real estate law, including planning, approvals, financing, and business strategy, and he has appeared before all levels of Prince Edward Island's courts and tribunals. Derek earned a B.A. from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1978 and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1981, and was called to the bar of Prince Edward Island in 1982. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and his honours include the Order of Canada and the Order of Prince Edward Island.
