Administrative & Regulatory LawDavid Swayze was called to the Bar of Manitoba in 1998 after earning his law degree from Dalhousie University, and became a partner with Meighen Haddad LLP in 2003. He was appointed King's Counsel in January 2023. His practice focuses on management-side labour and employment law, and he represents many of the firm's public sector, not-for-profit, and business clients on employment law, labour relations, human rights, and privacy matters. He has appeared before all levels of Manitoba courts and before administrative tribunals, and his work includes collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, workplace investigations, and arbitrator appointments. A Brandon native, Swayze served as President of the Law Society of Manitoba from 2013 to 2014 and as Manitoba's representative to the Federation of Law Societies of Canada from 2014 to 2020. He belongs to the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, the Canadian Association of University Solicitors, and the Manitoba Bar Association, and is a Life Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba.
