About David

David Law founded Law at Work in 2017 and focuses on general counsel and employment law services. He has been repeatedly voted one of the Best Lawyers in Canada in employment, labour and workers' compensation law, and was named a CSSE Community Health & Safety Leader in 2012 and received the King Charles III Coronation Medal for Contributions to Canada in 2025. He was called to the bar in 1988 after earning his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA from the University of Toronto. He was previously a partner at Gowling WLG and at Emond Harnden LLP, and has served as an appeals officer and policy adviser for the Workers' Compensation Board, a policy adviser for the Nova Scotia Workers' Compensation Board, and legal adviser to the British Columbia Royal Commission on Workers' Compensation. He is national counsel to the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires and general counsel to Commissionaires Ottawa, and has been a guest lecturer and former sessional professor at Queen's University's Faculty of Law.
