About David

David is Burchell Wickwire Bryson's managing partner, practising in civil litigation with a focus on disability defence, media and defamation, insurance, complex commercial disputes, professional liability, commercial tenancies and estate litigation. He represents disability insurers in mediation, arbitration and litigation, and acts for media organizations and publishers in defamation and pre-publication matters. In wills and estates, David assists executors, beneficiaries and clients facing guardianship and capacity disputes. He graduated summa cum laude from McMaster University and earned his law degree from Dalhousie University in 1997, and has been repeatedly recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada, including three Nova Scotia 'Lawyer of the Year' honours. He received his King's Counsel designation and volunteers as a Scouter with the 36th Halifax Scout Troop.
