About David

David Exel is an associate lawyer at Guardian Law who primarily practices family law and wills and estates. He earned a Bachelor of Arts at McGill University, graduating with distinction in 2015, then taught English in Japan before completing a Juris Doctor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, where he received the DLA Piper (Canada) LLP Prize in Corporate Law. During law school, Exel provided legal services to marginalized clients through the Law Students' Legal Advice Program and the Rise Women's Legal Centre. He articled at a boutique firm in downtown Vancouver and was called to the bar in 2021. Exel has litigation experience in the BC Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal.
