About Daniela

Daniela (Danijela) Dobrota is the principal lawyer and founder of Apollaw Immigration, practising exclusively in immigration and refugee law. She draws on her own experience as a refugee, temporary foreign worker, international student, and immigrant to Canada. Before starting her own practice she worked at two immigration and refugee law firms in Hamilton and in the business immigration department of a national law firm in Montreal. Earlier in her career she worked with a defence team at the United Nations International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Netherlands. She holds a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University's Faculty of Law, along with a Master of Laws from McGill and an earlier law degree from the University of Belgrade. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, and several immigration and refugee law associations, and can serve clients in Bosnian, Croatian, English, French, and Serbian.
