About Daljit
Daljit S. Nirman is the founder and CEO of Nirman's Law Professional Corporation, a downtown Ottawa firm he has led for over twenty years. His practice covers immigration and refugee law, real estate, wills and estates, and notary services, and he has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court of Canada, and various administrative tribunals. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a degree in Physics from the University of Delhi, a Master of Laws from the University of Ottawa, and further postgraduate legal diplomas. Nirman serves as a Visiting Professor at the National Law University in Delhi and previously worked as an adjunct lecturer in law. He founded the South Asian Bar Association in Ottawa and was a founding director of the Federation of South Asian Lawyers in Ottawa. His community work was recognized with the Order of Ottawa in 2021 and the United Way of East Ontario's 2022 Community Builder Award.
