About Christopher

Christopher Lutes joined Greenspan Humphrey Makepeace as an associate after being called to the bar in 2021, having articled with the firm the year before. He represents clients facing criminal and quasi-criminal charges at trial and on appeal, with a particular interest in litigating breaches of clients' rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He earned his J.D. from the University of New Brunswick in 2020 and a B.A. in political science and economics from McGill University, where he also directed the Student Legal Information Centre and served in student government. On graduation he received the Horace Hanson Prize in Constitutional Law and Civil Liberties, and he has published on the 'Mr. Big' confession framework in the Manitoba Law Journal. He belongs to the Criminal Lawyers' Association, the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Advocates' Society, and the Ontario Bar Association.
