About Christina Pawliszyn

Christina Pawliszyn works on commercial property deals and the financing behind them. As a partner in Gowling WLG's Corporate Commercial Group, Christina practises from the firm's Waterloo Region office and acts for individuals as well as businesses based locally, across Canada and internationally. Leasing files can go either way: Christina represents landlords and tenants alike, and on the lending side works for lenders and for borrowers.

Christina was called to the bar in Ontario in 2014 and joined the Gowling WLG partnership on January 1, 2022, one of 21 new partners the firm named that day. Christina's academic grounding includes an honours BA in psychology from the University of Waterloo, taken with a law and criminology option. Christina then earned a Canadian and American dual JD through the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Christina has worked on the real estate side of wider Gowling WLG deal teams. That's included the team for Ya YA Foods when Chicago private equity firm Entrepreneurial Equity Partners bought all of its shares in February 2021, the team that advised Covertech Fabricating on its October 2020 sale to Balcan Plastics, and the team acting for Housing Services Corporation as it moved to majority ownership of Encasa Financial in 2024. Christina was also among the speakers at the 2024 Southwestern Ontario Real Estate Forum in London and has written about Ontario property law, from church land sales to estates that hold real estate.

Christina makes a point of keeping communication open, so people know where their matter stands at each stage.
