About Christina Cameletti

Christina Cameletti helps individuals and families in Guelph through some of life's bigger moments: buying or selling a home, arranging a mortgage, and putting a will and powers of attorney in place. Real estate and estates are the heart of Christina's work at Cameletti & Cameletti, a general practice in Guelph's Exhibition Park neighbourhood. Christina joined in 2020, working alongside David Cameletti, Christina's parent, who'd founded it. One of Christina's favourite parts of the job is phoning clients to say their deal has closed and the new house is theirs.

Law came as a second chapter. Christina earned an honours BA in Medieval Studies from St. Jerome's University, at the University of Waterloo, in 2013, and had spent three years in a job following labour market trends for young people when, at 25, law became the plan. A JD from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University followed in 2019, with the Disability Law Intensive at ARCH Disability Law Center along the way. Christina articled at the Community Advocacy & Legal Center in Belleville, acting for clients appealing to the Social Benefits Tribunal, and was called to the bar in 2020.

Accessibility is personal for Christina. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis was diagnosed at age five, in more than 40 joints, and Christina has spoken up for people living with chronic illness and invisible disabilities for most of a lifetime: public speaking and fundraising for the Arthritis Society between the ages of 7 and 18, then volunteer work with the AODA Alliance during law school. That experience carries into practice. Clients with mobility issues can have Christina come to them at home, and accommodations are shaped creatively around each person, with their dignity always in view.

For Christina, compassion and empathy matter because clients are so often facing stressful or life-changing situations, and a lawyer's job is a bit like guiding someone over a bridge during the important transitions of their life. Away from the office, Christina swims, paints and spends time in nature.
