About Charles

Charles Lugosi is a barrister and solicitor admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1981 and the Law Society of British Columbia in 1982, and is also licensed to practise in Michigan and Washington State and before the United States Supreme Court. He was lead counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada case R. v. Feeney, which established the requirement for a judicially authorized 'Feeney warrant' before police may enter a private dwelling to make an arrest. His practice covers constitutional and Charter litigation, criminal defence and appeals, public and administrative law, and civil and commercial litigation. He holds an LL.M., a Master of Bioethics, and a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania, and has taught law at institutions in Ontario, Florida, Michigan, and Tennessee. He is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Advocates' Forum.
